Horus Music Turns 10Client Manager Lizzie is the fifth team member to provide us with her guilty pleasure songs, we think she made some good choices, but let us know what you think.

Listen with us on Spotify.

1. Destiny’s Child- Independent Women, Pt. I

I had a science teacher in high school who used to sing this song every time she was explaining what I think was electrons repelling saying they were ‘independent women’. The link to the science part she was explaining I don’t really remember but her impersonating Beyonce is something I don’t think I will ever be able to un see. Never the less I ended up having this song stuck in my head for the rest of the day.

 2. Cartoons- Witch Doctor

This is a guilty pleasure mainly because of the hair in this video.

3. Rupert Holmes – Escape (Pina Colada Song)

Pina Colada is probably one of my favourite cocktails and every time I order one there’s always that one person who starts singing this. The song actually had to be changed to have the pina colada song in title because a lot of people could not find it because the actual title is Escape. Apparently Rupert Holmes doesn’t even like Pina Coladas.

4. Britney Spears- Circus

This song is so catchy and got stuck in my head for so long.  I loved Britney’s classics such as ‘oops I did it again’ but ‘Circus’ came out when I was in high school so I can’t blame loving this on being a little kid.

5. Gwen Stefani- Wind It Up

It features yodels and a sample from the sound of music, what more can I say, pure brilliance.

6. Katy Perry- California Gurls

The video for this is just ridiculously ‘sweet’ themed that it’s sickly sweetly good! The song is so catchy too.

7. S Club 7- Don’t Stop Movin’

I love S Club 7, to me they were the soundtrack to kids birthday party of my generation. I even remember watching their TV show ‘Miami 7′ and film ‘Seeing Double’!

8. Spice Girls- Spice up your Life

“Slam it to the left If you’re having a good time / Shake it to the right If you know that you feel fine / Chicas to the front / Uh Uh go round” A song that instructs you what to do if you are ‘having a good time’ is always great and you really can’t fail but dance to this…especially after a few drinks. “Hi Ci Ya Hold tight!”

9. McFly- Five Colours in Her Hair

I obsessed with McFly in my tweens so I had to include them on my guilty pleasure list.

10. All Saints- Rock Steady

I love the sassy backing vocals on this especially in the second verse “no no no no.”
